Privacy without darkness
Bathroom windows usually face the street or a neighbour, so plain clear glass is rarely an option. But frosted film and heavy blinds make the room gloomy. Decorative glass solves both problems: sandblasted patterns, textured obscure glass and stained panels hide the view while letting daylight pour in.
We can also be selective — obscuring only the lower part of a window, or adding a band of colour at the top that brings warmth when the sun comes through.
Designing around water
Steam, splashes and cleaning products are hard on any material. Shower screens and doors are made from toughened safety glass, often with an easy-clean coating that helps water run off. Traditional leaded glass is not left exposed to moisture: we seal it inside a double-glazed or laminated unit, so the panel can be wiped clean like a standard window while the lead and cement stay protected.
In a bathroom, the most beautiful glass is the one that gives you privacy without taking away the light.
Etched and sandblasted art
Sandblasting lets us draw directly on the glass. Flowing botanical lines, geometric repeats, graded fades from clear to frosted, even initials or a favourite pattern from elsewhere in the house — the design is cut into a resist and blasted to a soft satin finish.
The effect changes beautifully through the day: subtle in daylight, more graphic in the evening when the lights are on inside.
Mirrors and splashbacks
Mirrors are simply silvered glass, so they can be bevelled, etched, antiqued or framed with a leaded border. Back-painted glass makes a seamless, wipe-clean splashback behind a basin or bath in any colour you like, with cut-outs made before toughening so it fits first time.

Questions we are often asked
Is stained glass suitable for a bathroom?
Yes, when it is protected. We seal leaded glass inside a double-glazed or laminated unit so moisture never reaches the lead, and the surface can be cleaned like any other window.
How do I keep shower glass clear in a hard-water area?
A quick squeegee after each shower makes the biggest difference. A gentle limescale remover once a week, and an easy-clean coating on the glass, keep it looking new.
Can the design cover only part of a shower screen?
Absolutely. A band of etched or sandblasted pattern at body height gives privacy while keeping the rest of the screen clear and light.
